This is my blog. And these are my regrets:
1) I won't be tracking my mileage.
2) I won't be linking you to my handmade collection for sale on Etsy.
3) I won't be sharing my playlist.
4) I won't be playing cyber tag.
5) I won't be sharing photos of my children's trips to the potty, aquarium, or Target.
Because:
1) Jiffy Lube does a fine job of tracking the only mileage I put in.
2) I make a mean peanut butter and jelly, but that's about it.
3) My theme song goes something like this: "There was an old woman who lived in a shoe..."
4) I'd rather just follow your game of cyber tag.
5) I forgot my camera.
I am a slightly strung out mother of four young love-monkeys by day, and a freelance writer by night who gets asked often enough, "Do you blog?"
Um, yeah, I blog stalk, who doesn't?
But I guess it's time to pay my dues to the blogging world.
I love visiting other people's cyberrific, uber-cute dot coms, but usually leave their fairy tale lives feeling just a little bit bad about mine. Well, this blog will probably make you feel a little bit better about yours. "Cracking Up" is more of a documentary than fairy tale, and I hope one day I will remember all of this as more of a comedy than a dramedy.
I often think of something my mom--the "Mac truck of motherhood" mother of eight-- would say when we were kids: "Sure, my house may be the messiest one on the block, but people always feel they can come on in, take their shoes off, and get comfortable."
Please come on in, take your shoes off, and get comfortable.
