Did you even get it, little dude?
Sure, there were the funny lines compliant with SNL wit that were wholly laughable ("This house used to be $1.8 million, but now it's a great deal at $320,000.")
But the married life subtleties and nuances were what brought this movie home. The way the husband assured his wife he could rally the troops if she took out her mouthguard. The way he realized how she happened to remember this one (hot guy) client from so many. The way they both were silently troubled when learning their best friend couple had resigned themselves to the title of "perfect roommates."
I laughed, but I also thought.
Last night, I picked Michael up from the airport and we stopped on the way home for a mini date night dessert at Cheesecake. The hostess led us to a booth. I sat on one side. Michael followed me in, sitting beside me, and took my hand. According to the "Date Night" marital happiness scale, we still got it.
We loved it too... it gave us some good laughs!
