How to Train Your Mom Not to Fall Asleep in a Movie Theatre

Ooh, guys. This was a good one. I don't know what it is, but something about animated movies in theaters takes me back to childhood and just like that, I'm out like it's nap time. Still don't know what happens in the middle of "Up" or the end of "Wall-E." Someday.

But tonight, a friend and I took the older kids to see "How to Train a Dragon," and ALL of us stayed awake! That's worth the popcorn. The animation in this movie was awesome, and I liked that it touched on the sweet spots of the Nordic Vikings--can't remember the last time I heard something good about them. It adopted the underdog proves himself story line, and was actually the slightest bit educational as you watch the main character "repair" a damaged wing of his dragon friend. Very likable characters. I think the voice of "Hiccup" could have been better selected (I think they went with Jake Gyllenhaal?), but overall, it was great.

We took kids aged 7-12, which was the perfect audience. I think my little ones would have been scared in some parts. Good movie, followed by good ice cream with good company. Good times!
