They're Watching

Once every six weeks, I am the bus driver for my son's preschool class as I take a turn to host his after-school play group. When you pile six hip-height boys into the back of any car, you're bound to be disgusted or amused while serving as chauffeur.
As we drove down a well-manicured street the day after the recent Measure A election, the boys must have taken note of the various campaign signs lingering in the yards. Suddenly, battle cries of "No on A! No on A!" stormed my V-8 Bastille from the squeaky voices of several future activists.

Quickly, opposition surfaced. "Yes on A! Yes on A!" two brave warriors cried. But it was four vs. two, just as in reality. If only the pundits had listened to the preschoolers
